Background
Dhoho International Airport is new airport currently under construction at Kediri. This development is to boost economic growth in the southern part of East Java; Kediri, Blitar and Nganjuk regency and also to share the load of domestic air traffic in Java island.
Development of Dhoho International Airport has occupied 371 Ha area for its terminal building, associated buildings, airfield, and runways.
Challenge
Dhoho airport is constructed at the foot of Mount Willis. Proposed runway embankment is located on rugged landform. It requires massive earthworks by means of Cut and Fill. Due to area constraint and land acquisition issue, some locations require retaining system, that can withstand up to 30m high fill, without sacrificing big area for the fill.
Solution
ReCo provides engineering and construction of MSE Steep Slope system using ArmaGreen Geogrid wrap around to retain Fill up to 30m height. Total facia area of MSE Steep Slope is about 19,000 m2 with slope angle of 50 – 68°.
ReCo provides construction of Environmental Protection Geosynthetic (EPGEO) solutions using TechRevetment, ArmaWeb, HDPE Geomembrane, Terraline and Geotextile non-woven as the slope lining and base layer of channels and ponds. Total area of lining and base is about 35,000 m2.
